Masi Tupungato, Corbec 2020

Flag of Argentina

Masi Tupungato is the Argentine outpost of historic Venetian producer Masi, bringing together centuries-old Italian winemaking expertise and the high-altitude terroir of Mendoza’s Uco Valley. Known for pioneering the appassimento technique in South America, the estate focuses on drying grapes pre-fermentation to concentrate flavour. The result is bold, expressive wines that balance richness with freshness. Masi Tupungato represents a fusion of tradition and innovation, crafting wines with European finesse and Argentine soul. A rich, characterful blend of two grapes: Corvina (70%) and Malbec (30%) - hence "Corbec", this wine showcases the appassimento technique with dried cherry, black plum, mocha, and baking spice aromas. Full-bodied and silky, it layers ripe dark fruit with hints of cocoa, leather, and a touch of vanilla. The tannins are velvety, the finish long and warming. Bold yet polished, Corbec is a wine for lovers of intensity and elegance, ideal with grilled meats or slow-cooked dishes.
